There are slight differences among brands such as the oil ingredient they put in, the protein profile, or the amount of omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. The fact is - all brands of formula including the store brand formulas meet the requirements regulated by the FDA to provide sufficient nutrients for your growing baby.
Breast fed infants do tend to save up after the first few months and poop less often. This worries some parents. Despite reassurances to the contrary, some folks just have to see a poop every day from their little darling to be happy and fulfilled. Go figure. They forget that stool can stay in the colon for a very, very long time and it will not hurt anything.
Soy-based Infant formula constipation are made from soybeans instead of cow's milk. The sugar used in soy formula is cornstarch, cornstarch hydrolysate, tapioca starch, or sucrose instead of lactose.If your baby is sensitive to lactose, your health care provider may suggest trying a soy-based formula instead. However, if your baby is allergic to the protein in cow's milk, she may also develop an allergy to soy. For this reason, you should check with your baby's doctor before switching to soy formula.

A bacteria known as Enterobacter sakazakii was found in the powdered infant formula and fed to newborns in a NICU. The babies became infected and suffered severe long-term neurological damage. Stool patterns vary normally from child to child and true constipation is infrequent. There is a wide range of normal stool frequency and consistency. Constipation is not the number of bowel movements your baby has each day, but rather it's when those infrequent movements are hard, dry stools that are difficult for your baby to pass. Iron in the form of iron drops or pills can cause constipation, but the experts tell us that the "normal" iron in formulas will not. A study performed by Frank Oski, the late Chairman of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Medical School, showed that iron-fortified formulas do not cause constipation any more than formulas with low iron.
