Buying Shoes
OK, you’ve just bought the most fabulous new outfit and you really need a pair of shoes to match. Whether you’re on a budget, or you have a bit more financial flexibility, you still want to get your hands on that perfect pair of shoes.Always wear the size sock you will be wearing when you walk, when you shop.Get the shoe a bit big. You can get different type sock thicknesses to fill up space. Also, tighten or loosen your shoe laces for just the right feel - not too tight not too loose. From a cold mountain morning to the hot valley you may adjust your laces to compensate for the increase in size of your foot.
The best dress shoes for men should be simple and well-matched to your clothing. Patent leather shoes are a great option. Be sure to carefully match your dress shoes to your pants, shirt, and jacket. If your clothing is gray, black, or blue, opt for black or dark gray shoes. Earth-toned clothing goes well with brown or tan dress shoes.Break in new shoes very slowly. Limit wearing them to less than two hours per day the first week. Gradually increase wearing time one hour per day. If you can’t change your shoes, make sure to take them off and inspect your feet every two hours.
Although buying real leather can be more expensive than buying synthetic leather, the cost will be much cheaper in the long run because leather is more long lasting. You can actually use a pair of leather shoes for a long long time. Just make sure that you store them properly, in areas where it will not be moistened as real leather can become home to molds.
